The Village of Orland Park is partnering with the Bulls/Sox Academy and will offer year round basketball, baseball and fastpitch softball camps for young athletes at its Sportsplex, 11351 West 159th Street.

"The Village of Orland Park is very excited to partner with the Bulls/Sox Academy to make these programs available for the young people of the area. Orland Park is a very sports-oriented community and the village's Sportsplex is the perfect setting for our young athletes to hone their skills," said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin.

The Academy, owned by the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox, will provide instructional training for local players ages five to seventeen. The Bulls/Sox Academy coaching staff will conduct hitting, pitching and fielding instruction for baseball and fastpitch softball players as well as ball handling, shooting and advanced skills camps for the basketball players of the region.

"We couldn't be happier with this relationship. Orland Park is a wonderful family-centric community that takes its sports very seriously," commented Joe Lachcik, President of Operations at the Bulls/Sox Academy, "The Orland Park Sportsplex is the perfect place to continue Chairman Reinsdorf's goal of bringing top flight basketball, baseball and softball instruction to every young player who wants our help. The people of Orland Park deserve the best and that is what they will receive through all of the new Bulls and White Sox sports programming."

The Bulls/Sox Academy opened in 2001 in Lisle, Illinois and runs extensive training programs in basketball, baseball, fastpitch softball, and sports conditioning for boys and girls from beginner to professional.

Academy programs begin October 4 at the Sportsplex with the Chicago Bulls Camp being offered on Tuesdays at a variety of times with a number of sessions. Age specific programs include ball handling, fundamentals camp, shooting camp and advanced skills and drills.

The first session of the Chicago White Sox Club Camps also begins October 4 with clubs being offered for hitting, pitching, advanced hitting, little sluggers, fastpitch hitting, fastpitch pitching, offense, defense and fastpitch elite. Details about both camps appear in the Recreation Department's Fall Program Guide and in the recreation area of the village's website at
