Orland Park, IL (September 23, 2020) – Pete’s Fresh Market is anticipating a Spring 2021 groundbreaking and plans to open their newest location in Orland Park by Spring 2022.

The proposed project includes the redevelopment of the former Art Van building into a 65,000 square foot, full service Pete’s Fresh Market grocery store in the Orland Greens Shopping Center located at 15080 South LaGrange Road.

Stephanie Dremonas, Executive Officer at Pete's Fresh Market, was present as an inducement agreement was unanimously approved at the September 21, 2020 Village Board meeting. “We’re excited, we’re Southsiders,” said Dremonas about the plans to open a new store in the former Art Van Furniture location. “We’re off to the races…we hope to have all plans in for review by the end of the year.”

Pete’s Fresh Market is a family-owned and operated retail grocery store providing fresh produce and top-quality groceries and imports, including a wide array of international, gluten-free and organic products. Each store has a full-service kitchen, bakery, and deli. Pete’s Fresh Market currently operates 16 different locations around the Chicagoland area.

Mayor Keith Pekau and the Village Board praised Village staff and Pete’s Fresh Market for their cooperation and swift work. As part of the discussions, Pekau recently visited the owners of Pete’s Fresh Market at their corporate offices and got to know the family better.

“You can tell the passion and love that the Dremonas family has for their business,” said Pekau as he thanked Stephanie and her father, James “Jimmy” Dremonas, for their time spent with him discussing the new location in Orland Park. “This is a great addition to the Village of Orland Park,” said Pekau.  “It shows everyone that Orland Park is the place businesses want to be, even during a pandemic.”

“We’re grocers through and through,” responded Dremonas. “Thank you for your support, we are happy to be here.”
