Sewer Repairs
Application Requirements
Permits are required for all sewer repairs and contractors cannot work in the right-of-way.
The following is needed to apply for permit:
- Letter of Intent with corporate seal if work being completed by a licensed plumber
- Application fee of $200
- Homeowner's Affidavit required if any work being completed by the homeowner
- The total cost of all work

Inspections Required
Most sewer repairs are done on an emergency basis. An inspection is required by the plumbing inspector upon completion of the work, but before site is backfilled. You can set up a same-day inspection by sending an online inspection requestor calling (708) 403-6225 or (708) 403-5300. Regular inspection hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
