Orland Park Police Arrest Man Following Domestic Disturbance; Two Officers Sustain Injuries

Orland Park, IL (April 13, 2026) – On April 12, 2026, Orland Park police officers responded to the 8600 block of 142nd Place for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Daniel Schmidt, 26, who was non-compliant. During the incident, Schmidt attacked the officers and resisted as they attempted to take him into custody.

As a result of the incident, two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both officers were treated at Northwestern Palos Community Hospital and released.

Schmidt was taken into custody and charged with the following:

• Two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer
• One (1) count of Aggravated Resisting Arrest

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
