Orland Park Police Department Announces Winter Speed Enforcement Campaign Results
Orland Park, IL (March 2, 2026) – The Orland Park Police Department today released the results of its enhanced traffic enforcement efforts conducted for the winter speed enforcement campaign. These efforts, carried out between Jan. 9 and Feb. 28, 2026, were designed to reduce crashes and save lives on Illinois roadways. The breakdown includes:
- (117) speeding citations
- (2) occupant restraint citations
- (4) electronic device use citations
- (2) arrests
- (32) other traffic citations
“The goal of this enforcement was to make our roads safer for everyone,” said Orland Park Police Chief, Eric Rossi. “By targeting the leading causes of crashes, we aimed to save lives and send a clear message that unsafe driving will not be tolerated.”
The STEP grant was funded with federal highway safety funds and administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of a statewide effort to improve traffic safety and reduce fatalities.
