Orland Park, IL (September 11, 2025) – The Village of Orland Park invites residents to take part in a day full of fun, civic engagement and community service on Saturday, September 13, 2025. With three exciting events happening in and around town, there’s something for every resident to enjoy.

“We are proud to offer a weekend full of opportunities for residents to engage, learn and benefit from,” said Orland Park Mayor Jim Dodge. “Whether you're recycling, asking important civic questions or enjoying live music at the Country Market and Car Show with your family, there’s something for everyone.”

Community Clean-Up Day at Orland Square Mall

Start the day by joining neighbors at the Community Clean-Up Day, held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Orland Square Mall at the 94th Avenue entrance.

This free event offers secure, off-site document shredding, prescription drug recycling and a convenient electronic drop-off. Please note that this service is limited to one TV per household.

Participants are encouraged to responsibly dispose of items and help keep Orland Park safe and clean. This event is hosted by the Village of Orland Park, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Beth McElroy Kirkwood and the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Voter Education Event: "Ethics in Government in a Digital Age"

Residents looking to engage in thoughtful civic dialogue are invited to attend the League of Women Voters of the Palos Orland Area’s Fall Voter Education Forum at the Palos Heights Public Library, located at 12501 S. 71st Ave. in Palos Heights.

At this free event, attendees can enjoy coffee and conversation beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a panel discussion at 10 a.m. moderated by award-winning author Nicki Kastellorizios-Lee.

The panel will feature local leaders including Orland Park Mayor Jim Dodge, Palos Heights Mayor Robert Straz, Palos Hills Mayor Jerry Bennett and Palos Park Mayor Nicole Milovich-Walters, discussing the importance of ethical governance in the digital age.

Country Market and Rock & Roll Car & Motorcycle Show

End the day on a high note at the Country Market and Rock & Roll Car & Motorcycle Show, taking place at Centennial Park West, located at 15609 Park Station Blvd., from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Attendees will enjoy live music from Miss Jamie’s Farm from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and Rockhouse from 1 – 3 p.m., along with pony rides, a petting zoo and farm-themed activities. This family-friendly event is a perfect way to celebrate the final days of summer with neighbors and friends.
