Illinois Congressman Sean Casten Visits Village of Orland Park
ORLAND PARK, IL (August 27, 2025) – The Village of Orland Park was pleased to welcome U.S. Congressman Sean Casten to the community on Monday, August 25, for a tour and in-depth discussion on local water infrastructure projects. Congressman Casten represents Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, which includes the Village of Orland Park.
Congressman Casten’s office reached out to Mayor Jim Dodge to schedule the visit and learn more about the Village’s ongoing capital projects, including the recent upgrades to its water system.
“I appreciate Congressman Casten’s interest in the progress we’re making here in Orland Park,” said Mayor Jim Dodge. “This visit is the beginning of what I hope will be a renewed and ongoing dialogue with our state and federal partners.”
During his visit, Congressman Casten received a detailed presentation from Village staff regarding the Village’s state-of-the-art water system projects, stormwater network and other Village projects/updates. He also toured the Village’s main water pump station and the recently completed backup water pipeline.
The backup pipeline ensures continuous access to safe drinking water for residents and businesses, even in the event of an unforeseen issue, such as a pipe failure or power outage. The system enhances both reliability and safety for the Village’s critical water infrastructure.
The Village continues to pursue state and federal funding opportunities to support infrastructure initiatives, including through partnerships with elected officials like Congressman Casten. These efforts aim to secure external funding sources to help reduce the tax burden on residents.
The Village of Orland Park welcomes visits from all local, state and federal leaders who wish to learn more about projects, priorities and its ongoing commitment to community development.
