Village Board Unanimously Approves 2025 Budget and Property Tax Cut

Post Date:12/19/2024 2:48 PM

Orland Park, IL (December 19, 2024) – For the second consecutive year and third time since 2020, the Board of Trustees cut the Village property tax levy.  The Village levy, which will be reduced by $250,000, is one of the highlights of the 2025 budget.  Both the 2025 budget and levy were unanimously approved at the December 16 Board meeting.

The 2025 budget is balanced and invests $60 million in Village services, including public safety, snow and ice removal, and street maintenance.  More than $58 million has been earmarked for various capital improvements, including over $6 million for road construction.  Other major capital projects, such as the all-inclusive playground at Schussler Park, renovations to Doogan Park and resurfacing Centennial Park walking paths, will provide new and enhanced recreational opportunities.

“This budget reflects the Board’s commitment to deliver high-quality services while making key investments that directly improve Orland Park residents’ quality of life,” said Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau.  “I applaud the leadership of the Village Board to address resident needs, as well as positioning the Village to meet future opportunities.  I appreciate the hard work of Village staff for their dedication and service to the community each and every day.”
